Machinable glass ceramic can withstand continuous use at temperatures up to 800ºC and peaks at 1000ºC. Its thermal expansion is compatible with most metals and sealing glasses.

MACOR® is non-porous, non-wetting, and maintains its shape under stress, unlike ductile materials. It also provides excellent insulation across high voltages, frequencies, and temperatures, and when properly baked, it does not outgas in vacuum environments.

Easily machinable with standard metalworking tools, it allows for the quick and cost-effective production of complex shapes and precision parts without the need for post-firing. This eliminates delays, prevents post-fabrication shrinkage, and avoids the expense of specialized diamond tools.
