Ceramic Forming Processes

We use different techniques based on the complexity, size, and application of the component.

  • Slip Casting molding variant - The Ceramic forming process involves shaping ceramic materials into desired forms before sintering them to achieve the final properties.

  • Die Casting: Also known as ceramic injection molding (CIM) or die pressing, is a manufacturing process used to create high-precision ceramic components.

  • Slip Casting: A liquid ceramic slurry (slip) is poured into a porous mold, often made of plaster. The mold absorbs water from the slip, leaving a solid layer that forms the desired shape. Used for complex, hollow items like pipes and art pieces.

  • Dry pressing (or Uniaxial): A fundamental method of producing high-quality ceramic components and is suitable for simple to less complex geometries.

  • Isostatic pressing: Apply uniform pressure from all directions, producing dense and uniform parts. It can be used to produce parts with concave, hollow, elongated parts and other complex shapes.

  • Extruding: Extrusion is an excellent molding process for the production of tubes, rods or long parts with different cross-sectional variables.
